Have you ever wondered where your compostable items go after you put them in the compost bins?
Join us for a tour of the Compost Facility and Research Cooperative, and learn about NC State’s closed-loop organic waste management system! Our facility processes all of the organic waste collected on campus into a nutrient-rich soil amendment that is utilized in the campus landscape and at the Agroecology Farm. If you’ve ever wondered where the items go that you put in the compost collections on campus, this tour is for you!
The tour is outdoors, so please wear close-toe shoes.
This event is sponsored by the Sustainability Partners program, a partnership between NC State Staff Senate and the University Sustainability Office.
The tour will take place on Wednesday, September 22, from noon to 1 p.m.
