NC State Players See Wins at Chancellor’s Cup Golf Tournament
On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, NC State participated in the 9th Annual Chancellor’s Cup Golf Tournament. The tournament raises money for staff scholarships at the 17 UNC system institutions and is used for degree programs or professional development. The tournament was the “brainchild” of NC State’s Susan Colby (NC State has yet to win 1st place). Twenty-eight teams paid to play at the Tobacco Road Golf Course in Sanford, NC. The NC State Chancellor’s team came in tied for 5th place. Three of the NC State players won prizes: “Doc” Wade won an E-Z-Go golf cart for a Hole in One, Scott Clagg for longest drive, and Gabby Sinkovic won for both closest to the pin and closest to the hole.
The winners this year are:
- 1st place: UNC Pembroke (50)
- 2nd place: Winston-Salem State University (51)
- 3rd place: UNC Wilmington (55)
Pembroke has taken possession of the new trophy and will have tournament bragging rights until next year.
Special thanks to everyone who volunteered their time, especially former Staff Assembly delegates that return each year to volunteer or play, and SEANC, the naming sponsor this year. Senior-level leaders on-hand, including UNC System President Peter Hans, enjoyed the day and are looking forward to next year.
