June 2024 Staff Senator Spotlights

Arlene Mabry is an Accounting Technician for NC State Athletics. Her mission as a Staff Senator is to be a voice for others; to keep others informed of issues, concerns, and what is going on across campus. Off campus, she enjoys riding motorcycles, reading, hanging out with friends, and playing with her grandkids.

Coleman Simpson serves as the Assistant Director of Career Services, External Relations, in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He joined the Staff Senate to help represent CALS, to amplify the voice of staff members, and to advocate for positive changes on campus. He enjoys working with the Communications Committee. Off campus, Coleman enjoys walking his dog Zeb, playing video games, and keeping his plants alive.

Latoya Giles serves as a Program Specialist in the Wilson College of Textiles. She joined the Staff Senate because she wanted to be a part of the positive work she has seen the Senate do over the years. She is proud of completing the EOI Certification offered by the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity. Outside of work, she likes to spend time at the beach, camping, traveling to new places, and finding time to be creative.

Jill Anderson currently serves as a Lead Instructional Technologist in DELTA. She joined the Staff Senate to expand her knowledge of the NC State community and connect her constituents with resources across campus. Jill is passionate about sharing concerns from her constituents and advocating for others. Outside of work, Jill enjoys keeping her houseplants as happy as can be, going to the rock climbing gym, outdoor photography, hiking and camping.

Kasey Harris serves as Program Specialist for Training and Assessment in the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. She serves on the External Relations Committee and joined the Staff Senate because she wanted to raise the voices and concerns of her DASA colleagues. She is proud of being a part of a team that helps support and improve the advising and student support experience for all students and student success professionals across campus. Off campus, Kasey enjoys reading, gardening, and doing any and all crafts.
