The NC State Staff Senate represents over 7,000 NC State employees, including SHRA and EPS professional and support staff, both on and off campus. The Staff Senate is an advisory body to the Chancellor and a key partner in the shared governance of the university. Staff Senators celebrate the success of staff members across NC State, engage in service opportunities, provide feedback on concerns, make recommendations on policies and regulations that affect staff, and encourage a sense of community and engagement among all members of the NC State community.

If there is an opportunity for new representation for your district in the Staff Senate, and you are eligible to vote in this year’s Staff Senate elections, you will receive an email from NC State Staff Senate.

The Staff Senate election process is now available online until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at the Staff Senate Election site.

Constituents are encouraged to vote for employees from their district for the Staff Senate candidate who they feel will best advocate for the success of themselves and their colleagues. Participation is completely voluntary, but we hope everyone will take the time to vote for their Staff Senate representatives.

Voting can be completed on a computer or mobile device. Constituents will need their Unity ID and password to access the ballot. This process enables the elections to be administered on a secure server, ensures that only those who are eligible to vote do so, and prevents individuals from submitting multiple votes. Your vote is completely confidential – no personally identifying information will be attached to your response.
